It’s Your Move: daily chess puzzle # 3

May 25, 2015

White to play and win

Benko v Robey, New York 1963

Solution

In CJS Purdy language, black's queen is tied to defending the Nc6 and Rd1. So, 1 Nd4! interferes, and one or other of the defended pieces drops off- with Qb3+ threatening to take the LPDO Rd1.
